South Africa: South African jockey Aldo Domeyer was the most notable mover on the comprehensive world rankings published weekly by Thoroughbred Racing Commentary after a career day with a high-profile treble on the Sun Met undercard at Kenilworth in Cape Town.

The former champion apprentice, who returned home from Hong Kong for the birth of his son and stayed for the Cape summer, recorded a 22-point gain via a Grade 1 double.

Domeyer was successful on Russet Air in the Cape Flying Championship before taking the Majorca Stakes with Clouds Unfold, who had also won the race in 2019. Both horses were trained by Candice Bass-Robinson and are by the sire What A Winter.

On the same card, Domeyer partnered Invidia for his father Andrew Fortune to win the CTS1200, a sales race with the joint-richest purse in South Africa carrying prize-money of R5 million (about £260,000/$340,000).

With 935 points, Domeyer moved up to 117th spot (from 260) on the TRC jockey rankings. Frankie Dettori remains on top with 1,088.
