500 Richard Mullen

UAE: Last week’s Al Ain Derby for Purebred Arabians was a milestone for multiple champion jockey Richard Mullen, who emulated Richard Hills and Tadhg O’Shea to become only the third jockey ever to ride 500 winners in the UAE. The landmark success came on Musheer Al Wathba for trainer Jean de Roualle.

5,000 Scott Stevens

USA: 44 years after riding his first winner at Les Bois Park in Idaho at the age of 15, Scott Stevens celebrated his 5,000th victory aboard Royal Privacy on March 9 at Turf Paradise in Phoenix, Arizona.

The seven-year-old gelding was sent off 1-2 favourite before a 6¼-length success under Gary Stevens’s older brother, who is officially the 35th rider to reach 5,000 winners in North America.

100 Ben Curtis

GB: Ben Curtis is on the verge of setting a new record for the all-weather winter season after hitting the century mark on March 11 with an across-the-card treble at Lingfield and Kempton.

The 30-year-old reached 100 with the short-head victory of Red Jasper at the latter venue and now has 101 to his name after winning on Musee D’Orsay later the same evening – one short of Luke Morris’s record mark of 102.
