Canada’s top horse Starship Jubilee is in line for a crack at the Breeders’ Cup Mile after taking her career record to 19 wins from 36 starts in the Woodbine Mile, which is a ‘Win and You’re In’ race for the two-day Keeneland spectacular.

The reigning Canadian horse of the year has now won five out of six in 2020, when she had raced exclusively in the US prior to Saturday’s contest.

She raced in midfield before running on strongly for a decisive verdict at Woodbine and in beating G2 scorer March To The Arch by a length with Preakness hero War Of Will further away, she recorded a Beyer of 103 – the best of the weekend in North America.

The admirable seven-year-old also won the G2 Ballston Spa at Saratoga in July to add to a treble in Florida in the winter. It was her second G1 success after last year’s EP Taylor; she has won nine graded events altogether, plus the last three editions of the Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf at Gulfstream.

As such, it is hard to argue with trainer Kevin Attard when he says: “This mare doesn’t get the respect she deserves!”
