South African superstar Summer Pudding took her unbeaten record to nine in Johannesburg’s premier race, the WSB Gauteng Summer Cup, at Turffontein on Saturday [Nov 28] – and her trainer, Paul Peter (+10pt, #154 from #236), is this week’s TRC rankings star.

Currently leading the South African trainers’ premiership with SAR3.9 million and 44 winners after the weekend, Peter had a Group-race double on the card as he also struck with Catch Twentytwo in the G2 Dingaans.

Points variations are rather more volatile in the equine rankings, where Summer Pudding (+93pt, £33 from #74) has been rewarded with a big move; her jockey, reigning champ Warren Kennedy (+9pt, #72 from #87), also gets a nice bump.

Also worth mention is world number one Chad Brown (+4pt, stays at #1), who certainly enjoyed himself at this weekend’s Del Mar Turf Festival with a pair of G1 doubles via Domestic Spending in the Hollywood Derby and Juddmonte’s Viadera in the Matriarch.

Other movers last week included Juan Hernandez (+10pt, #110 from #157), who won a couple of minor graded events at Del Mar, plus Juan Villagra (+10pt, #120 from #171) and Martin Chuan (+10pt, #140 from #210), Derby-winning jockeys in Peru and Argentina respectively.
