France: A momentous week for Italian football also featured a landmark victory at ParisLongchamp where Juventus coach Max Allegri was among the winners.

Keen racing follower Allegri enjoyed his first success in France with three-year-old gelding Light Up My Dream, who won a 5f handicap under Christophe Soumillon, three days before the Italian national team defeated England on penalties to win the Euro 2020 tournament.

Allegri is involved in five horses with Alessandro and Giuseppe Botti, who also train them. He also has a two-year-old with Yann Barberot.

One of Italy’s most successful managers, Allegri won 11 trophies and reached two Champions League finals over six years as manager of Juventus. He took a two-year break from management but has returned to the Turin club for the forthcoming season.

He got into racehorse ownership last year but until this month none of his horses had finished better than second.
